For this blog I plan on writing about my life as a mom and the things I enjoy for myself. For this first ever post I wanted to write about the things I look forward to as a mom when the nice weather comes around. When you live in Rochester, NY the weather being "nice" can be a oddity at times so I appreciate any days of sunshine, especially when you have two sons at home that have had a bit of spring cabin fever. I love being outside and in the summer months you will rarely find me indoors. I love playing outside with my kids, going for walks, relaxing on my deck. My 4 year old loves to help mommy plant her garden and by that I mean dig holes in the dirt and play with it. Something I've known for a while is that boys can be so different than girls, not just physically obviously, but psychologically. Being a mom of two boys I get to experience the world through their eyes. Boys are so inquisitive and exploratory. Always asking questions and running around, jumping, touching things. They are so physical compared to girls I think. My 4 year old has a friend that is a girl right around his age and the way they play when they are together is so different. Boys are the "fearless" ones sometimes meaning they don't always think before they do things, they just "jump". Girls like to analyze things first before leaping. That's just my opinion!
I have always been such a clean freak my whole life. Now I'm the one letting them make messes or playing in the dirt or sand right along with them. I have definitely learned to let the little things go, so to speak, because I love watching my two boys explore and learn about things by doing things hands on. So I'm looking forward to a summer full of dirt, sand, bike rides, baseball and fishing because being a mom of boys is SO MUCH FUN!!!
